This has been weighing on my mind a lot lately and you guys/gals know that I’m always up front and willing to share how I feel about things. This one in particular is near and dear to my heart, because lights are how I got my start in the industry. If my wife’s (then girlfriend) didn’t have such terrible lights on her Impala or our street wasn’t completely blacked out in winter, we wouldn’t be where we are now.

When we first started, as anybody that’s spent any time on our website knows, I was selling HID lights out of our spare bedroom online and out of my truck on the road. I was completely mobile. Within the first six months in business, I knew it was for me. There was so much JUNK lighting on the market that it was easy to come in with a good product, good service and a fair price. We were in the middle of a recession and people wanted to make sure they were buying good quality parts that would last. Was our product perfect? Of course not, but we stood behind it, and still do to this day, with our lifetime warranty.

We’ve grown leaps and bounds since then. We’ve found factories that care about more than the most units sold or the cheapest price. They want the best quality light on the market. We’ve met these manufacturers in person, shook their hands and talked about our shared passion for quality.

Bringing in Rigid Lighting really made sense for us. They are a U.S. based company that really cares about an amazing product. They know they aren’t the lowest cost light and they’re ok with that. They own their place in the market and their repeated revolutions in lighting are a testament to their constant desire to be the best. They have some VERY cool things coming in the year to come. They are certainly a company to watch.

I’m writing this because the local lighting scene is sad. Anybody with a 10mm wrench and a cell phone is selling lighting products. They’re charging far more than we are and selling the cheapest thing on the market. Or they’re offering a 6-month warranty because they know that’s all the longer the lights will last. They’re taking your “deposit” and never answering your calls again. That one in particular makes me sad because 1. That’s how I got my start and 2. I hate to see people ripped off.

I’m not saying we are perfect or that we’ve gotten everything right, or that if you shop somewhere else that you’re going to get poor quality work, service or lights. With us, you know what you’re going to get. That we are going to do it the best way we know how.

We are dedicated to cars, trucks, SUVs and even the family mini van. We try to add 1 big new service related to them every year. From the year we added remote starts and car audio to now, where you can get ALMOST every aftermarket thing on the market, we take what we do very seriously. We stake our reputation on it every single day because we are in this for the long haul. We will still be here next year.

Everybody thinks it’s easy to start their own company and after 8 years owning my own, it’s not. You have good days and bad days just like at any job, except both ends are much more extreme. It’s easy to quit when you’re down as we’ve seen from countless companies since I started. We are dedicated to being here for all of your automotive aftermarket needs for many, many years to come.
